Regulation (EU) no. 2025/40 of 19 December 2024, known as ‘PPWR’, was published in the Official Journal on 22 January 2025. The regulation comes into force on 11 February 2025 and will apply from 12 August 2026.
All packaging and materials are covered by these obligations.

Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 31 May 2023 on the placing on the market in the Union and the export from the Union of certain commodities and products associated with deforestation and forest degradation and repealing Regulation (EU) No 995/2010 (EU RD) was published in the Official Journal of the EU on 9 June 2023.

Every fragrance composition present in a cosmetic formula (perfumes, essential oils, flavors…) must comply with cosmetic regulations, but not only. In fact, all fragrances present in cosmetic products must also comply with the latest IFRA amendment.
But what is IFRA?

Cosmetic products have been regulated by Regulation (EC) n°1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of November 30, 2009 on cosmetic products since July 11, 2013, known as the “Cosmetics Regulation”.

Natural or “organic” cosmetics contain varying proportions of natural and/or “organic” ingredients.
